As chinchilla is a type of rabbit you can feed green vegetables, leaves etc. But all should be in a good condition. You shouldn’t give dirty and unclean vegetables or leaves to chinchilla.
At first chinchilla was founded by French engineer M.J.Dybowski. Chinchilla is originated in France.These chinchilla type of rabbits having different and having unique fur in the body. Though the chinchilla are smaller in size Americans are identified scientifically to produce larger chinchilla so that the chinchilla rabbit is suitable for meat and also for other purposes. These chinchilla rabbits may attract many people by it’s fur. Chinchilla is of lovable pets so that chinchilla is considered as a domestic animal. Chinchilla is fond of playing.
Mostly chinchilla feeds pellets, grass hay. Green vegetables, roots, leaves, berries, various types of grasses etc.. But all should be in clean condition. Clean Water should be given to the rabbits. Water should be placed in the clean bottle outside the cage. Water should be changed often and the bottle should be in a clean condition so that chinchilla might a disease resistant one. More diseases get attacked the chinchilla due to not taking the correct nutritious food. If they are supposed to take the nutritious food means they may not easily attacked by any diseases. Nutritious food like rolled oats, different types of wheat may be given. These nutritious foods which may include vitamins, fibres, carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, fat, oil etc. Not to give peanuts to the chinchilla.
Plant protein plays a vital role in chinchilla. Because of these plant protein fur which is present in the chinchilla may grow very densely and so they remain active and healthy. Due to the lack of plant protein the fur deficiency may occur in the chinchilla. The chinchilla may be of not remain active and fur is also not of very strong. It may be somewhat weak. Fibre is needed to be given to chinchilla inorder to prevent over feeding and also to protect chinchilla from digestive disorders
Grass play a major role in providing nutrition to chinchilla than hay. Alfalfa is a type of grass which is used to repair the damaged cells. It also increase the lifespan of the chinchilla. Orchard grass, blue grass are the types of grass that the chinchilla may feed. Hay must be store in a clean and neat place so that no diseases can attack the chinchilla. Especially pellets and the hay may have the more vitamins and minerals.
Fresh and clean water should be given to the chinchilla. Don’t give unclean water to the chinchilla. Unless you provide the impure water to the chinchilla it may cause severe fever to the chinchilla and also there is a chance of diarrhoea. Don’t give the tap water or water containing minerals. Give the purest water and also boil the water after getting it from the tap and then cool it for few hours and then give it to the chinchilla. It will be very pure. So this is the best way to give the purest water to the chinchilla.
Suppose your chinchilla is suffering from diarrhoea means it is necessary to give large amount of water inorder to replace the fluids that had been lost during diarrhoea.
